Focus on… Using Games and Sports as a Skill

Some of the group last night asked how games and sports may be used as a skill and we just wanted to give idea here.

Here are a list of example of how ‘Games and Sports’ are used within the skill section.

  • Snooker, pool and billiards
  • Cards (Bridge)
  • Chess
  • Clay target shooting
  • Cycle maintenance
  • Darts
  • Fantasy games
  • Fishing/flyfishing
  • Flying
  • Gliding
  • Historical period re-enacting
  • Karting
  • Kite contruction and flying
  • Marksmanship
  • Model construction and racing
  • Motor sports
  • Power boating
  • Sports appreciation
  • Sports officiating
  • Table games
  • War games

Sports such as football and gymnastics would be a physical activity unless used within Sports appreciation or Sports officiating. More information on all these activities can be found at The Award Website or you can ask one of the leader team.

Focus on Skill – Macramé

In case any of our new members are interested, the following details expalain macramé as found on Wikipedia.

Macramé or macrame is a form of textile-making using knotting rather than weaving or knitting.

This activity would be classed as a skill.
