Supporting Young People Working Towards The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Just a quick note to remind anyone going on the day that we require your parental consent forms back this Tuesday. This is a really important form – without it you won’t be able to join us on the day.
Thanks to everyone who came to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award group on Tuesday night. It was great to see so many of you interested in finding out more about the Award and how to get involved.
Those interested in joining the group should complete the application form and return it to us at the meeting this Tuesday, 18th September.
Anyone who is undecided can find more information on The Award website at www.theaward.org.
Looking forward to see you all back on Tuesday evening,
The Leader Team
We are now looking for young people to join our Open Award Group. We have a limited number of places for the Duke Of Edinburghs Bronze Award 2007/2008. The Award is open to people from all backgrounds and ability, and although we meet at James Gillespies High School, we are an Open Award group. This means that you don’t have to be a pupil here, so if you know any friends or family who may be interested, let them know.
The Award offers young people the opportunity to learn new skills and to try new experiences and meet new people. Although challenging The Award is non-competitive, voluntary, flexible, and a whole load of fun!
So why not come along and see for yourself. You should be 14 or older and be able to commit to at least 1 hour a week on Tuesday evenings at James Gillespies High School, 1 hour a week in your own time and 3 weekends throughout the year.
If you are interested why not join us at 7pm on Tuesday 11th September? Remember – we have limited spaces and these will be allocated on a “First come first served” basis.
If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail the leader team at ‘leaders’ at seoag.org.uk
See You Soon, The Leader Team
So now you’ve completed your bronze expedition and had a month or so off to reflect on the experience. You’ve completed one section of your Award already and it’s now time to focus on completing the rest.
Whether you have just a vague idea about the other sections, are mid way through them or have completed them all, the date you need to remember is SEPTEMBER 18TH. Go on; put it in your diaries now!
That’s the first Tuesday night for you this term. We want you to come in at 8pm armed with your record book, a list of your planned activities and where you are in the process of each.
Looking forward to seeing you then,
The Leader Team
